Visual Style

Honestly, I don't know what my visual style would be, but that's what I hope to learn from this semester.   When I started to look through different photographs, I realized that I love sunsets over water and seeing picturesque landscapes.  Something about seeing so much in a single photograph kind of got to me.  This gives me a good perspective on how I would like my films to look.  I can feel inspiration from Ansel Adam's photography, and I took notice of Aivazovsky. . I know I like how the light comes from one source, the sunset. I think I would like certain shots in my films to have this affect. This concept is similar to what we read about in Cinematography for Directors that explained the “chiaroscuro” but not quite as dark.  I am a big Quentin Tarantino fan, and a lot of his movies strike a chord with me.  I am always impressed at how he pulls off his crime genres, but I'm honestly not a big fan of the Grindhouse films.  I take notice of his somewhat experimental shots.  I like how he tries out different camera angles and manges to make them work.  These are a few of my favorite films by Tarantino.
